The Story of Fairmont Pacific Rim
Now that you have a picture of what we`re talking about, perhaps we should give you some details about the background of this building too.
The high-rise is actually a part of the Fairmont Hotels and Resorts chain which are quite well-known in British Columbia. In fact, this building is the fourth Fairmont Hotel in the Vancouver Metropolitan Area.
The hotel occupies 44 storeys on the first 22 floors of the skyscraper. But don`t worry, if you wish to live in this building, the other floors are ready for you to move in. In total there are 175 residential condominium units that begin from the 23rd floor. The entrance for the residential is different from the hotel`s entrance and is located at 1011 Cordova Street.
At the time, meaning 2017, the condominiums were sold at a price of $2,100 per square foot, which is quite considerable. Now the history of the building is not drama free as well. In 2013, the famous actor of Glee, Cory Monteith was found dead in one of the hotel rooms. At the time he was 31 years old, and his death was announced due to an overdose of heroin and alcohol.
James K. M. Cheng, the Architect Beyond Fairmont Pacific Rim
